All around, the Sony Playstation 3 is a complete home entertainment system for your entire household. With the system, you will be able to play Playstation, Playstation 2, and of course Playstation 3 games. Besides being able to play games that date back generations, to games that are the most technologically advance with 1080p high-definition, the Playstation 3 serves another function and another purpose. A purpose that’s worth its weight in gold. The Sony Playstation 3 is a Blu-ray Player!But how does the Playstation 3 compare to a standard Blu-ray Player?The Playstation 3, compared to a stand alone Blu-ray player, has one massive advantage. Price! A standard Blu-ray player can cost anywhere around $ 850 dollars to a whopping $ 1,300 dollars. It is obvious that the average person won’t be able to afford such a steep price. There is no denying the fact that while the PlayStation 3 has not performed the best when compared to other gaming consoles. It has consistently ranked high on many best of Blu-ray Player lists. A recent poll conducted by Nielson rating system showed 65% of the people who purchased a PlayStation 3 did so because they wanted a Blu-ray Player. Clearly, many people still view it as a good Blu-ray option. But why would anyone still consider it the best Blu-ray Player on the market. By today’s standards it is a rather old piece of equipment, having first been released a few years ago. Here are some reasons why many still perceive the PlayStation 3 to be the best Blu-ray Player and will be for some time to come.

Both the XBOX 360 and the PS3 are handheld gaming consoles, providing first person shooters and real life simulation games. These consoles are typically offering the same games yet some games are exclusively set to each console such as ‘Heavy Rain’ which is exclusively for PS3 and ‘Halo’ for the XBOX 360.
