Computer is said to be the sum of its parts unlike other electronic devices. In case of a television, nobody cares about the make of a picture tube of a particular brand and its specifications. However, in case of computers, a knowledgeable consumer would first enquire about the specifications of its components such as motherboard, processor, hard disk, RAM etc., more than the brand name. Following is the computer hardware and terminology in a nutshell.

Several functions are included in a powerful chip known as a processor or microprocessor. Rolled into a chip, it’s the brain and heart of the computer. Its competence which is specified by its frequency and denoted using gigahertz depends on its speed of processing. It would function in a better way if the speed is higher. Also, there are numerous types of processors, including the 32 and 64 bit processor. A yardstick of speed is not what bit rate is all about and the larger bit rate means that various computing processes can be performed efficiently by the processor at the same time.

People in the high-tech industries don’t like to demonstrate knowledge of older technology. In some circles of the computer field such knowledge actually carries a stigma!

There are valid arguments for using NEW technology whenever possible. Older technology at whatever level is a mixture of elegance and crudeness, with old questions answered and new questions left unanswered, problems left unsolved. Newer technology answers some of those new questions, solves some of those problems, and so it makes sense to move on from there instead of living and working as though those questions were never answered. It just makes common sense to move beyond early stages of development when the opportunity is there, and especially if the marketplace demands it. Most young people (and a lot of old people, too) tend to take this view, and lace it with scorn for the old.

At some point in time we all reach the point where our computer is not running a quickly as we like. With an aging computer, it’s almost inevitable. But, there are many things that you can do, short of buying a new computer, that allow you to get a quicker, more responsive computer. Before I give you my ten tips, I want to introduce you to a tool that comes with Windows Vista and 7 that assesses your computer’s problems. It’ll give you a better idea of what might be the main problem with your computer, and enable you to fix the problem(s). Firstly, click Start, then Control Panel. Now go to the System and Security tab and click System. In the menu that appears, click Performance Information and Tools under the See also heading of the left panel. Next click Advanced Tools in the left panel and in the new dialog, scroll down and click on Generate a System Health Report. This will take a few minutes to identify possible issues with your computer. It might also be useful to re-assess the Windows Experience Index. Basically, dive computer is a device that shows you depth, Elapsed Dive Time, temperature, No-Decompression Dive Time Remaining and many other things, depending on the model you use, dive mode, and whether you are underwater or on surface.

But the main task of the dive computer- is to calculate the nitrogen loading and oxygen toxicity levels and compute the most optimal and the safest surfacing procedure, manage decompression, and the surface interval between the dives. In shorter words – it helps us staying out from getting into the Decompression Sickness as long as we obey safety rules, warnings and alarms.
