Just like people, some video game characters are more widely recognized than others. Think about video games that you know of and the characters within the game. More than likely you remember the game because of the characters within it. Video games allow players to take on the role of that specific character during the game. The fact is that when it comes to gaming, in most cases a game is memorable not only for its plot and action, but the game’s characters as well.

The goal behind any video game is to create an experience that is unique. During game development, developers work to ensure that the game is different from other games on the market. There are so many different games available today that the game design of each game truly must be spectacular, or else no one would ever buy it. Gamers want new storylines, characters, and game effects to enjoy.

10. TMNT 4: Turtles in Time

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time is a video game produced by Konami. A sequel to the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) arcade game, it is a scrolling beat ‘em up based mainly on the 1987 TMNT animated series. Originally an arcade game, Turtles in Time was ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time in 1992. That same year, a similar game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist was released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

For the next 18 months, the three giants of Game Consoles will be fighting its way to gain popularity, sell billions of sales in stores and homes across the world to gain the title of the greatest game console. In multibillion businesses like these, it is not impossible to achieve such goals. After these 3 consoles launched their announcements at E3 conference in LA last May, the three assailants have been competing in thousands of articles and columns that have been composed about the next generation consoles.

Every press release has been passionately followed by another press release by its rival company. At the last launch press conferences the Microsoft Company proudly stated that their Xbox 360 could gain 9-billion-dot-product-operations per second. Until Sony came out with its own statement that their PS3 could produce 51-billion-dot-product-operations per second and stated their company’s combined CPU and GPE performance numbers while at the same time as Microsoft only reported their CPU performance number. It is better not to believe in any article written about the consoles until a purchaser has checked the fact personally.

In recent years it has been interesting to watch the big console giants battling over who will take control of the gaming market, the main contenders being Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation. The competition within the game console business is intense and these console giants jostle to gain the greatest market share possible, and so huge competition rages, but Sony’s PlayStation 3 has emerged a clear winner and still remains the best selling console to date.
