About seven years ago, my brother and I purchased a Ninetendo 64, knowing full-well that we could have acquired the brand-new Playstation 2. However, the N64 was familiar to us; cute characters such as the Mario Brothers, Kirby, Ray-Man, Domo, and several others enticed us into bringing home the already-aging console. Besides, the N64 cost much less than the PS2 at the time, and we had played on it with our cousins (Honestly, I had no idea what a Playstation 2 was, but I just neglected to reveal this fact). In the end, it was the right choice at the time, but today, I’m even more thankful for that decision.

See, the Nintendo 64 is, and probably always will be, the best video game console in existence. It’s old, just about as old as I am (and I’m writing this, so you can take your guesses), but its simplicity and antiquity makes it all the more enjoyable. In fact, I’m not going to say a single word of protest when my brother carts his Xbox 360 off to college; as far as I’m concerned, my N64 will get me through the night.

When it has honestly came down to the video game console wars, Sony has unfortunately lagged behind the pact of sales, with Microsoft and the Xbox 360 & Nintendo with the Wii. Sony sadly hasn’t had the sales to match with the way gamers across the country had definitely needed for their needs. While it still has had some great games like Motorstorm and Guitar Hero: World Tour, there still wasn’t a whole lot there for those who simply at the time, couldn’t afford to buy the PS3 Console.
