According to some reports, one third of all Xbox 360 consoles will be affected by the red lights problem at some time. Some people even believe that ALL Xbox 360 consoles will fail at some point. What these worrying figures show is that owning a 360 is a rather risky thing to do as there is quite a high chance of something going wrong. As long as this happens when your console is under warranty there’s not too much to worry about as you should be able to get the problem console replaced easily. However, if you, like me, were unfortunate enough to experience the 3 red lights problem after the warranty expired then the whole situation gets a lot worse. There are only two options for those of us in this situation – send the console back to Microsoft for repair or fix the problem at home.

Before I go over whether Xbox 360 repairs are actually possible I will discuss the cause of the red ring of death. It’s actually quite simple, the problem is caused by too much heat in too small of an area. Have you noticed that when you play your 360 it gets extremely hot? In some cases peoples’ consoles have become so hot that they’ve actually been able to fry eggs on the case! All this heat is the result of an inefficient cooling system and can cause major damage to the components. Of course the Xbox 360 is an intelligent gaming system and as soon as damage from the heat is detected the console goes into “lockdown” mode, displaying the 3 red lights to let you know that there is a problem. As long as an Xbox 360 is exposed to excess heat there is a high chance that it will develop the red ring problem, sooner or later.

Gaming consoles have taken over the gaming community. Companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony have changed the way we play video games. It used to be common to play computer games, sometimes against another person via the Internet.

Access to these games was only available through your computer, now there are several options available and more on their way. Once consumers began using game consoles online to play, companies feared the downfall of computer gaming. That was not the case at all. There are some disadvantages of gaming consoles for online gaming compared to personal computers.

The Xbox 360 console has gotten the love and attention from lots game lovers since the day got the market. The reason why I love this console is because of it’s unique features like breath taking graphics quality and the fantastic online play makes me fall in love with this console the more. But with all of this great features that it has it also has some problems too like the red rings of death which is one of the most common problem many gamers experience with this console. This is a problem that is never fun for game lovers to experience.

The red ring of death is caused by the hardware failure of your Xbox 360 console. This is bad news. But the good news is that you can send you Xbox 360 console to Microsoft for fixing. The red ring of death is a common problem that Microsoft is aware of and is ready to fix it for you for free, if your warranty is not expired yet. But if your warranty is expired then it will cost you $ 150 for Microsoft to fix it for you. Another bad news is that you will have to wait for about 2-6 months before you can get back you Xbox 360 console from Microsoft.

The universal acceptance of computers into our daily lives, both at work and at home, has decreased the image of computer users as being “geeks.” The word geek itself has evolved a bit – going from meaning a socially inept person who gets along better with computers than people, to someone who is an expert with computers, a guru even. In fact, many computer service companies utilize the name geek in their nomenclature because of this new meaning.

Not everyone who is proficient in using a computer is a geek, but there are people out there who are so interested in computers and so well versed in them, they wear the title geek with pride. Many of these people may not have had formal training. They’ve been playing with computer hardware, or software since they were ten years old. So what should you do if you have this kind of computer knowledge? A few years ago, it was very easy to get a well paying computer job, without any post secondary education. Advances in technology, the dot-com implosion and wider acceptance of technology doesn’t make it so easy any more. The good news is, you don’t need a four year degree to secure a well paying job in the computer field. Even if you’re not a self professed computer geek, if you have an interest in a computer career, here are some good fields to study.
