Repairing My Xbox 360
Repairing my Xbox 360 at home was easier and quicker than I could have imagined. When the Red Ring of Death first appeared I did what most gamers do. I cursed. I screamed. I stomped around the house wanting to break something. Game consoles never break after you have gained the level, or completed the impossible sequence, or Lord forbid, beaten the game. No, consoles break down in the middle of the toughest sequence, just as you were about to conquer it. The frustration is enough to make you want to strangle something.
Then came the call to Microsoft. After patiently answering all of the tech’s questions (though I wanted to shout, I didn’t) he informed me that the Red Ring of Death is a known fault, and the fix is easy. All I had to do was wait for him to send me a mailing package, pack up my console and send it to the service center. They would fix it and mail it back to me in just a few weeks.
